THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

The Kimberton Fair Planning Committee would like to thank each and every person, group and civic organization who played a part in making our Fair a success in 2008.

Your support allowed us to present another quality event that keeps true to our tradition as a family-friendly fair that entertains and educates our community members about the importance of PA agriculture. It also enabled us to continue to raise funds for the volunteer Kimberton Fire Company.

It is overwhelming to see how many hours our volunteers put into planning, preparing and working our 6-day event. And this year was even more challenging with the addition of a “preview” night the Sunday before opening day! It simply would not have been possible without the time and talents of our treasured volunteers.

Besides the countless man hours that go into putting on our Fair, there are also countless expenses! This year our Fair spent over $186,000.00 for items such as tents, amusement rides, electrical work, building maintenance, advertising, printing, postage, signage, refreshment and donut supplies, security, entertainment, ribbons and prize money for winning entries, restroom facilities, trash and recycled trash hauling, judges’ fees, emergency medical services, and the never-ending list of supplies. It’s a delicate equation… IF the weather cooperates, and IF attendance is up, and IF sponsors are generous, and AFTER all the bills are paid equals how much money we will have to start up next year’s event, and then donate the remainder to the Fire Company. And the fact that we have no “labor” costs plays a huge part in that being a positive number!

Every hour you helped, every Fire Company food stand you patronized, every parking donation dollar you gave, every game you played, every amusement ride you rode, and every raffle ticket you bought all contributed to our goal. So thank you for your support. You made a difference in your community and (we hope) you had a great time at the Fair. We look forward to seeing you next year at the 2009 Kimberton Community Fair!
